You know, I write about creativity – and mostly just writing. But we all have other ways we are creative. Some paint. Knit. Some consider our businesses to be a creation. Or as Dr. Abraham Maslow said – some make a first rate soup.
A first-rate soup is more creative than a second-rate painting.
Pumpkin carving could be among your cherished skills. I do love a seasonal jack-0-lantern. Alas, this year we carved neither of our two pumpkins. So what’s a gal to do?
Tell me where I’m wrong, but I find creative people are often oddly frugal. Well, that’s not true, precisely. We can be extravagant too – especially in a craft store, a book store or a paint store. But we feel a little tug to do something with that unwanted item. (Exhibit A: all of Pinterest.)
So, I hate to just toss these lovely pumpkins, and from everything I read, they would not make good pumpkin pies. I intend to roast them, using Martha Stewart’s recipe:
We don’t have cold Fall evenings, here in Southern California – though Angelenos begin shivering in the lower ’60’s – but I find we all still hanker for the signs of the season changing – pumpkin, PUMPKIN SPICE, apples, apple cider and plaid skirts, brown and orange sweaters, scarves and boots.
I’ll let you know how it turns out – in my FB group. Come join us – and tell us about your seasonal delights!
