We, writers are not fragile. Our ideas are fragile. They are fleeting, ephemeral, embarrassing, telling. We, by contrast are tough as nails. We write in good faith, promote to deaf ears, champion our ideas and breathe life into the unwilling. We have fortitude and daring.
This week, 9 of your kith will stand and read their new works in progress, on a Zoom call. And even though you’re likely sick of Zoom calls, you cannot be sick of writers who dare to stand behind their needy, new ideas and share their writing, while it’s in progress. (BTW, I just checked, and I definitely used ‘kith’ right.)
Each of 10 writers will get 7 minutes to share their mind-views, their stories, their manifestoes. And we’ll be there to hear it, imbibe it. Join our 90 minutes of fun and intrigue while we let each writer stand up and be heard.
It’ll be a great event, dipping into curious, intelligent, funny, driven brains, who share what’s keeping them at the keyboard, night and day. And you get a chance to tell them what you liked about their presentation, so they get feedback (and fuel). I’ll send out a link early this week!
What is your Work-in-Progress?
What are you working on – think back – what work do you have in progress? Even if you started it in your thirties? Even if it’s just an idea you carry in your head, and nurse back to life in quiet moments… Can you imagine yourself finishing, polishing, and PRESENTING that work?
That’s what our 9 writers have done over the past 5 weeks, and are presenting on Friday, August 21st. Join us – and get a program and reminder emails. I’ll send out a link early this week!
This is the second time we’ve done a Works-in-Progress event. Many of the people from our last event are already registered to come again! If you’d like to see the last performance… take a look, below. It is an engaging evening that gives you a look into the creative minds of 7 writers. Each reads for 7 minutes, and we share their brain for that interesting moment in time. Take a watch!
